Message: I am happy to support your trip. The Chernobyl disaster is often on my mind for I live within 10 miles of an aging nuclear powerplant which has just received permission increase its production! Bicycling is a wonderful way to get people's attention. It is ecologically friendly. It is healthful. It connects people. The most wonderful part of our trip was the experience of people helping us and our opportunities to lend a hand to fellow cyclists or to entertain the folks we met across America with our stories.
I am going to forward your e-mail to our daughter who is now in college. She just completed a research paper on the bicycle as an instrument of revolution! I myself have come to believe the bicycle is a powerful tool for social justice and change, .

Message: It is very appropriate that you are making your Chernobyl journey by bicycle. In this day and age the bicycle has become a true "vehicle of peace." The energy to locomote a bike derives solely from our human potential. No fossil fuels. No nuclear energy. No electricity. Possession of and control over these resources have led to unnecessary wars around the world and particularly in the Middle East. If more people turned to the bicycle for their means of local transport or leisure activity, they themselves and our planet would assuredly be healthier and happier. Good luck in your grand and noble enterprise. Colleen McGuire, Managing Director, CycleGreece www.cyclegreece.gr New York City and Athens, Greece.

You have a great cause, four legs and two bikes, now it's your job to release the power!! If you are courageous, I can recommend you a very beautiful place of nature at the polish-slovak boarder between Zakopane and Poprad: you can for example cross at sucha hora to Poland and go back to Slovakia at Lysa Polana. You will see some very nice nature locations! If I can allow, the "recommend stop" page countdown has 3 days less than the others... Good luck and don't get afraid by the rain!.
