Message: I am an interested cyclist, but mostly on a day to day level, I've never done longer trips. I think the trip is a great idea and supports a very important cause! Maybe it will raise awareness for issues today as well, which we basically disregard in day to day life. Hopefully people will remember that what we do to your environment and therefore to ourselves has consequences that go on for a very long time or might even only surface after a longer period. I am very impressed and hope your whole journey goes well! Safe travels and all the best!.

Message: There will come a time in your journey when your legs are tired, your hearts are worn, and all you want to do is give up. Don't. Remember what you ride for, remember all those people who were lost to disaster. Rememver you are out there to give them hope. I believe in you. You can make it all the way. Keep pushing for that final destination. Your heart is so huge - let yoiur cause fuel you. Stay safe, put a smile on your face for them, and make it happen. I'm putting the word out for you on my blogs, as you've given me the inspiration to do pretty much the same thing, except here in the states. You're an inspiration and bringer of hope - remember that! .

Message: Dear Christian & Emmanuelle.Great to hear about your cycling trip plan to Kiev. I am sure it will be a great trip. I was in Leningrad ( now St. Petersburg) when it happened with Chernobyl disaster. I was just about to take Trans Siberia route. No job too small, my friend. What you are doing is not a small thing. We might not see the result we are doing today. But at least we already open a path for our children to step into a better world. So they can do better tomorrow. We owe this live today from our children. Bon Voyage, Christian & Emmanuelle..

Message: I commend you for undertaking such an extensive trip from Bern, Switzerland to Kiev, Ukraine to remind us all of the ongoing Chernobyl tragedy. As a person who has done several solo trips in various countries, I have learnt that cycling encourages empathy, understanding, communication and education between the traveller and the local people. Somehow, being a cyclist seems to place the visitor within the society instead of looking from the outside - the situation of all tourists and most travellers. I found this to be true in my own country of Canada, in Vancouver Island in British Columbia and in Quebec, as well as in the United States of America. However, this was particularly apparent in the non-English speaking countries of Cuba and Chile. In addition to international goodwill, I endorse your efforts to remind us of the disaster at Chernobyl that started twenty years ago. A disaster for the Ukraine and the world in terms of the human lives lost and health damaged, of jobs and homes lost, to the environment and to the economy. A tragedy whose effects are clearly ongoing but are oft ignored.I wish you a wonderful trip. I will use your website to follow your adventures..

Message: I continue to be a bike enthusiast, thanks to people like you who inspire me to live life and do things for a worthy cause. Interestingly, I was reading an article in the recent Readers' Digest, which did an article on the Chernobyl disaster. I wish you both the very best in your Switzerland to Ukraine bike-trip. My heart-felt greetings and good luck! I will be a "virtual" travel-mate with you both (as with thousands more who will join you!) on the trip. Warm and sincere regards, Satish Chandra.
